John Head and Ed Brill can tell you better (I'm merely repeating what they told me --hopefully with some accuracy), but integration between Notes 8 is not likely to be addressed until 8.0.1.

Also OpenOffice.org 1.1 did not use the OpenDocument format which requires a lot of modification to the core binaries to accomodate.

OpenDocument is a 2.x+ feature set. As for other feature parity, I can't comment, but in my initial experiences with the PTools, they are not so much of a fork (as I and others have referred to it) as an ongoing commercialization of the stable open-source builds, sort of like a StarOffice for WorkPlace (now Lotus/Portal).
